Easy Peasy Mid-Low Skirt
Found this skirt at a local 2nd hand store for 5 bucks.
1. Put the skirt on and mark the length you would like the longest part (the back) You might not have to do this step, but my skirt was too long for my preference. Remember always leave room for hemming.
The chalk marks the length I chose
Cut off the access material
Lay the skirt on the sideways (you can see the side sew lines if you look close)
To see where I wanted to cut the skirt, I put it on again and made a mark of of high I wanted the front to go. Then laid the skirt on the side and drew where I wanted to cut it. You can see multiple marks because I was putting it on and off the make sure it's would lay where I wanted it on myself.
Bring your line to the side sew line of the skirt.
Cut and hem
Volia!

excelent idea!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! As someone else called it...it's my Mullet Skirt lol!
ReplyDeleteThis is so creative you took an old style skirt & redesigned it more up-to-date - very nice!
ReplyDeleteWould this look good with an unfinished rolled hem, like with jersey-ish fabrics?
ReplyDeleteIt could work, just depends on the fabric. Mine wouldn't it would just keep fraying.
ReplyDeleteGive it a try, and if you do send me a pic so I can see, I love seeing these DIY and how people make it their own.
It looks great, such an improvement to the way ti was before!! Thanks for sharing and I am a new follower!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great start to your week!!
