Before
Using chalk outline a tank top shape. (You can use one you already have as a tracer but make sure it's a similar fabric for stretch reasons)
Cut & hem along the raw edges. I also took the shirt in a bit, to do this turn the shirt inside out and sew along the side hem that's already there. I did an inch at at a time and kept trying the shirt back on to get the fit I wanted.

This is such a cute DIY! Unfortunately for my dad my mom is in cleaning-out mode and wants to get rid of all of his old dress shirts (they're his comfiest and most favorites!). I'm gonna snag them up and repurpose them : )

That's great! I use my boyfriends dads shirts all the time, and raid my boyfriends. It's whole different kind of 'shopping spree'
Deletethat's a neat up-cycling project. i love that you modeled it off around a ton of people, that means it really came out great!
ReplyDeletelooks like you had some fun at some kind of festival!
Thank you! It really did, and I have the perfect pumps to match the blue in the shirt, but when walking around a music festival (Sound of Music in Burlington, ON) flats are sometimes easier.
