Today I am guest posting over at a beautiful feather, showing you how to make this ruffle bow skirt. Click here to check it out!
Mark a line using chalk for where you want to cut your skirt. I put mine out and measured that way.
Cut on the line
With the bottom of the skirt that you just cut out, rip the seam creating one piece of fabric
I cut my fabric again along the seam (to the left on the above photo) since it was already too long and I wanted a clean look
Starting with the seam of the bottom of the skirt match it up with the side seam of the skirt
And sew them together
Pinning as you go, pleat the bottom of the skirt piece and keep going until it matches up with the other side seam of the skirt. This may be a trial and error thing as it was for me.
Lastly, if you like bows (as I do) create one using the extra fabric you trimmed off the bottom piece earlier on. I just safety pinned it on so I now have the choice to wear it or now. You could even try and making the bow out of a different colour fabric!

This skirt looks lovely and sew well done. If only I had the legs for it. Lol. Cheers, Karen.
