DIY :: Crop Top Chambray

Using one of my boyfriends old dress shirts, I easily converted it into a new crop top. Chambray has been all the range I was pumped when he said he did not want this shirt anymore!
 Before. To begin I used a seam ripper and took off the arms as shown below.
 Lay your shirt out and mark where you would like to crop it. I put mine on and made a small mark with chalk and then took off the shirt and made the straight line shown above.
Cut your shirt and hem up the loose ends to prevent fraying. I hemmed the arms and the bottom. I also took in a bit at the side for a tighter fit. This can be done easily by turning the shirt inside out and sewing along side the seams.
I wanted to add a bit more detail to my shirt so using tacky glue and faux pearl gems found at my local dollar store, I arranged and then glued them down. Make sure you wait 24 hours before washing if you added some kind of accent to your shirt.Stay tuned for a style post!

    This is wicked! My hubby has a ton of chambray dress shirts he doesn’t wear that I know I could do the same with. Great post 😀
